Game Designer in CHINA

Responsibilities

  • Work with the directors and leads to design, and iterate on game systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments in the production and implementation of the game systems when necessary.
  • To provide a fun and memorable player experience that is consistent with the Game’s vision.
  • Assist in the creation of game systems involving concepting, paper design/adaptation, implementation, bug fixing, optimization and tuning.
  • Collaborate closely with QA to identify, address and resolve reported issues.
  • Good knowledge of various core game systems, metagame systems, and control systems.
  • Knowledge sharing and mentoring of peers


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Game/System Design roles
  • Worked on at least 1 AA or AAA console/PC title in a game/system design position during the production phase.
  • Good knowledge of game/system design best practices and tools
  • Experience with using Unreal Engine 4 and/or Unreal Engine 5
  • Experience in collaborating with other departments/teams
  • Proactive in taking on tasks and raising problems to the respective stakeholders
  • Ability to build quick prototypes when needed
  • Ability to process, understand and implement feedback
  • Ability to complete and deliver best quality work on time
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Adequate verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated  Passionate about playing and making video game


Bonus

  • Experience with crafting multiplayer and single player game systems
  • Experience with scripting languages
  • Experience with UI/UX/HUD design
  • Experience with level design and/or level integration
  • Experience with multiple game development tools and editors
  • Ability to oversee a game feature with a small team of designers and/or cross functional team
  • Able to travel and work in other internal domestic studios for a period of time if project needs
  • Experienced with working in an English-speaking environment
  • Familiar in working with teams across multiple studios (co-dev environment)
