The Infrastructure and Operations Department within our IT group is in charge of managing the underlying infrastructure (back-end and user-facing) for all Bank systems and platforms. They provide infrastructure support for system and platform delivery projects up to production maintenance.


As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible forproviding IT support to BDO branches, business units and subsidiaries, including problem identification, troubleshooting, ticket documentation, and escalating necessary issues raised by users. You will also respond to requests for service or assistance within service level standards, activity queue schedule and assignment. Further, you will support project implementation and other operational maintenance activities.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned preventive, corrective maintenance tasks and requests
  • Answer user inquiries regarding computer software and hardware to resolve their problems
  • Assess the readiness of a site to accept installation of IT equipment and make recommendations to address deficiencies or incompatibilities for relocation projects
  • Prepare necessary items (equipment, tools, spare parts, software) for use, performing installation of hardware, operating systems, appropriate software
  • Review service call history of the machine and recommend improvements to immediate supervisor
  • Manage queue of activities to comply with schedule requirements and incident reports for critical incidents handled
  • Conduct review and update of Supplies Level, Inventory, and IT equipment for pullout of his assigned area


Competencies:

  • Technical IT Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge in LAN/WAN set-up, network, hardware, software, troubleshooting skills, and vendor supervision
  • Technical Operations Knowledge: Has expertise in 24x7 Customer Support, Service Delivery Model, technical problem resolution, financial business applications, business continuity/resiliency, IT Risk Management, Technical Systems Operations Management
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and accommodate client concerns.
  • Analytical Skills: Problem-solving capabilities, strong analytical skills, and flexibility to be able to handle multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Proficiency in multiple business disciplines/functions, executes within client centric environment for work with teams and contributors
  • Can work with minimum supervision



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or an equivalent program
  • Preferably with at least 2 years of experience in an IT field work assignment or repair center and strong background in IT equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience gained from a service company, bank or other financial institution is not required but is a strong advantage
  • Candidate must be willing to work in Makati or Ortigas
