FrontEnd Developer Freelance- Animation expertise in CANADA

Metajive is seeking a talented and experienced Front End Developer with a focus and demonstrated expertise in animations to join our team on a contract or freelance basis. This role will be fully remote and based in Canada. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem-solver passionate about crafting exceptional digital experiences. You will collaborate with our design and development team to build innovative and high-performing websites and web applications. Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain complex web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js)
• Collaborate with designers and other developers to translate designs into functional, high-quality code
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Optimize website performance and user experience
• Stay up-to-date with the latest web development technologies and trends
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with tech leads, producers, and clients to ensure project success

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional front-end web development experience
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver pixel-perfect designs
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Expert-level knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks: React, Next.js, Vue.js
• CMS systems (Statamic, Contentful, Wordpress, Sanity, others)
• SaSS, SCSS
• WebGL, GSAP
• Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Proficiency in version control systems (Git)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Strong understanding of visual concepts
• Experience with crafting animation-driven web experiences
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with backend development (Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails) is a plus
