This is a temporary role, during which you will partially replace our Art Director & Visual Designer while she is on maternity leave.

About Your Role
As a Visual Designer at Fairphone you’ll translate complex stories and abstract concepts into attractive, on-brand visual designs. You have in-depth knowledge and know how to translate this into an engaging visual experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative mind who wants to use their talents to contribute to a values-driven organization.
Your Responsibilities
- Help grow our brand awareness by creating inspiring and engaging multi-channel designs that follow our brand identity and fulfill our brand strategy,
- Manage design projects from start to finish from concept and idea development to high-quality final execution. Whether it’s a creative campaign, digital banner, animation or a DTP task (like making various language versions of the same document) you’re able to approach everything with the same energy,
- Understand branding and visual guidelines. You can easily apply them when you create a design and also know when they need to be challenged,
- Produce graphics (such as banners, animated visuals, etc.) for digital communications on the website, blog, email, and social media,
- Produce marketing materials for campaigns, packaging, POS, and events.
Your Profile
- You are creative, proactive, have a strong sense of initiative, and a positive attitude,
- You are a reliable team player with excellent ideas and communication skills, who is curious by nature and takes ownership at work,
- You are flexible, self-motivated, and love the work environment of a start-up/scale-up company that is dynamic,
- You embrace diversity in thoughts, opinions, and backgrounds,
- You feel a strong connection with Fairphone’ s mission and values,
- You (are willing to) live in the Netherlands and have the right to work within the EU.
Your Skill & Experince
- You have a broad and proven experience in both digital and print design, animation skills are a plus,
- You have a strong portfolio showing a broad skill set, bringing creative concepts to life across various media,
- You have a genuine passion for design, staying on top of current trends and technologies,
- You are familiar with design software and technologies (such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma,
- Ideally, you have experience with art direction, photoshoots, shotlists, retouching,
- You have a keen eye for aesthetics, details, typography and layouts,
- You have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, are self-motivated and have a positive attitude,
- You have the ability to work methodically and meet tight deadlines,
- Preferably, you have a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field.wide.

- Relocation Support - Fairphone will reimburse the cost of a one-way train (if applicable) ticket to the Netherlands, arrange an appointment at the municipality and provide all the necessary information so that your arrival and settlement in the Netherlands will be smooth and pleasant!
- Public transport allowance – we fully cover your 2nd class commute from your home to the office.
- AND Bike allowance – we support you with a bike purchase of up to €300, and you’ll have a yearly repair budget of up to €80, too!
