Senior Databricks Developer - Relocation to Abu Dhabi - Must be on site in Abu Dhabi - Tax Free 🇦🇪
We're working with our client, a leading Fintech, with huge investment put into Machine Learning and Data Science Technology, to hire a Senior Databricks Developer to join their growing team based in Abu Dhabi.
Salary:
30k-40k Dirhams per month (€90k-€120k per year tax free)

We want to speak with Databricks Developers with expertise in crafting, building, and optimizing data processing pipelines using Databricks on Apache Spark. As a Senior Databricks Developer, you'll design and implement effective data solutions aligning with our client’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, create, and oversee the management of data processing pipelines utilizing Databricks on the Apache Spark platform
- Enhance and optimize Databricks jobs and workflows to ensure improved performance, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate closely with data engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to grasp data requirements and translate them into actionable solutions
- Implement and enforce data governance, security, and compliance practices within the Databricks ecosystem
- Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure the stability and accessibility of Databricks clusters and resources
- Develop APIs to facilitate data consumption by internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure data quality and consistency through meticulous testing and validation processes
- Integrate Databricks with various databases (SQL, NoSQL) and other data systems (e.g., Kafka, Hadoop) to create comprehensive data solutions
- Conduct thorough code reviews, testing procedures, and debugging tasks to uphold the quality and resilience of our data pipelines
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles, specializing in creating data solutions using Databricks and Apache Spark
- Experience with S3, Blob Storage, or Big Query
- Familiarity with various databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions
- Strong understanding of data schema, storage, and modeling principles
- Solid grasp of distributed computing principles and parallel processing techniques
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team
- Knowledge of data modeling for both structured and unstructured data
- Strong background with Python (programming language)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
- Certifications such as Databricks Certified Developer or Databricks Certified Associate are advantageous
- A bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science or an Engineering field (Master's is preferred)
