Job Description
Idaho Laboratory is hiring a High Performance Computing Embedded Systems Engineer-Project Hire to work in our Special Reactor Concepts department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
Responsibilities include:
- High Performance Computing leadership at INL. Understanding the mission requirements and providing solutions for users.
- Function as interface between the HPC and Advanced Scientific Computing directorate organizations and Lab.
- Responsibilities for designing, defining, installing, configuring, debugging, troubleshooting, and improving embedded systems in support of the HPC systems and supporting infrastructure.
- Support computer vision and machine learning development for integration with experimental data and the Nuclear Research Data Storage science gateway. Incorporate and deploy embedded systems as part of the inference pipeline.
- Support probabilistic risk analysis via embedded systems by deployment algorithms to field programmable gate arrays.
- Support research projects and proposal development in the context of embedded systems and machine learning.
- Troubleshoot, and performance tune systems and software. Understand system level interactions and design.
Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or comparable field
- Published record of projects using field programmable gate arrays for machine learning inference
- Experience with HDL
- Integer quantization experience starting from Tensorflow or Pytorch machine learning models
- Experience with computer vision projects and temporal activity detection.
- HPC experience as either a user or system administrator
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
