The Role
As a Developer on the OAK team, you'll play a crucial role in the development of the Oak mobile app, contributing your skills and expertise to help define our direction. This role presents an exciting opportunity to influence the evolution of our community and contribute significantly to our growth journey.
- Frontend and Backend Development: Collaborate with the team to develop both frontend and backend components of the OAK app using Flutter for the frontend and Firebase for the backend. Implement features, design user interfaces, and integrate with external APIs to deliver a seamless user experience.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with other developers and stakeholders to translate product requirements into technical solutions. Participate in discussions on architecture, design, and implementation details to ensure the success of the project.
- Code Quality and Testing: Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and coding guidelines. Conduct unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the OAK app.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and best practices in app development. Take initiative in learning new skills, experimenting with new technologies, and sharing knowledge with the team.
- Remote Collaboration: Embrace a remote-first work culture, effectively communicating and collaborating with team members across different time zones. Utilize collaboration tools such as Slack, Discord, and GitLab to facilitate communication and project coordination.
We Are Hoping That You
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Have +2 years of experience in mobile app development, with proficiency in Flutter for frontend development.
- Are proficient in Flutter or similar frontend technologies such as React or Angular, as well as backend technologies such as Node.js.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and version control.
- Experience with backend development using Firebase is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a remote work environment.
- Passion for learning, adapting to new challenges, and contributing to the success of a growing startup.
- Have an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
