Position: IT Systems Director (On-Site)

Overview:

We are seeking a visionary IT Systems Director to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of our technology strategy, aligning it with our organization's growth objectives. This role involves establishing and enforcing IT governance, managing infrastructure, and driving technology initiatives that enhance business efficiency and security.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Leadership: Collaborate with senior leaders and IT experts to craft a comprehensive technology strategy that supports our business objectives and promotes secure growth.
  • IT Governance & Policy: Implement and maintain IT policies to guide system security, compliance, and organizational growth.
  • Inventory & Analysis: Oversee an inventory of current applications and hardware, performing cost-benefit analyses for potential enhancements to optimize resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Oversight: Manage core business applications, including ERP, CRM, TMS, and web platforms, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Operational Strategy: Develop operational plans to support IT department functions and organizational objectives.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with teams to identify and implement cost-effective technological solutions across departments.
  • Resource & Vendor Management: Oversee internal IT resources and third-party providers to maintain systems like Salesforce and Great Plains, reviewing service contracts as needed.


Organizational Structure:

  • Reports to: President
  • Direct Reports: IT & Systems Specialist (pending hire)
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works with Leadership, Sales/Marketing, Finance, Operations, and R&D departments.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Evaluate current applications and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and guide IT staff and external providers to fulfill operational needs.
  • Design and execute IT strategies, infrastructure updates, and system enhancements.
  • Manage technology updates, training, and compliance with security standards.
  • Oversee the IT budget, support desk operations, and ticket system performance.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, manage vendor relations, and negotiate contracts.
  • Develop robust backup and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Recommend and implement automated system administration methods.
  • Ensure consistent hardware/software maintenance and user training.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s in IT Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in applications support, software implementation, and project and team management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP and CRM systems with hands-on experience in Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Google G-Suite, and Microsoft O365.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and team development.
  • Preferred Knowledge: Application Integration, Portals, Analytics, and process improvement methodologies like Kaizen.

  • Ability to manage computing equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
