Manual QA Engineer - Remote from Portugal in PORTUGAL

Client: UK startup building their tech hub in Portugal


As a Manual Quality Assurance Engineer, you will help ensure the software development's quality across a range of teams.

You will work under the guidance of the Lead QA engineer and collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver user-friendly software that is free of defects.

This role will give you an opportunity to develop your front end and backend testing skills and work in multiple sprint teams which will provide you with a range and variety of innovative work to collaborate on.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with the development process by manually testing sprint tickets for up to 3 different projects

· Collaborate with product owners and developers to refine backlog tickets and get them ready for upcoming sprint by creating acceptance criteria and having input on time estimations

· Create test cases, test plans, and execute exploratory testing

· Participate in design QA activities

· Maintain regression test packs and keep them up to date and relevant

· A readiness to conduct regression testing on IOS, Android and Web based products

· Participate in all sprint ceremonies including standups, planning, refinements, and retrospectives

· Writing up tickets in Jira to report defects

· Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Quality Assurance practices

 

What we need from you:

· Experience in testing web applications

· Experience with testing IOS and Android apps

· Proficiency in design QA best practices and accessibility

· A good understanding of how to test Backend functions such as GRPC

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills

· Good problem-solving abilities and willingness to tackle technical challenges

· An ability to context switch when needed

· Familiarity with Jira and Github

 

Nice to haves:

· Exposure to Agile development methodologies

· An understanding of how to report bugs and issues in a clear and concise manner

· An understanding of how to locate and extract error logs from tools such as DataDog or Coralogix

· Some experience in accessibility testing and best practice
