Our client, a prominent insurance company based in Germany, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team. This position is fully remote, but occasional travel to Germany will be required based on project needs. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience and be fluent in English at a C1 level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kubernetes & Istio Administration: Manage, maintain, and optimize Kubernetes clusters and service meshes using Istio.
- AWS Expertise: Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Web Server & Security Administration: Administration of web servers, load balancers, and web application firewalls (Akamai), ensuring secure and efficient operations.
- Certificate Management: Oversee the administration and lifecycle of SSL/TLS certificates.
- Infrastructure as Code: Use Hashicorp Terraform and Packer to automate and streamline infrastructure management.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Manage and improve Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines using Jenkins.
- DevOps Mindset: You will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining the infrastructure and taking ownership of your work ("You build it, you run it").
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps roles
- Kubernetes and Istio administration
- AWS cloud services experience
- Administration of web servers, load balancers, WAF (Akamai)
- Certificate management experience
- Proficiency with Hashicorp Terraform and Packer
- Jenkins administration and CI/CD pipeline management
- Strong DevOps mindset and hands-on approach
Nice to Have Skills (Optional):
- Experience with Crossplane for Kubernetes administration
- Experience with GitHub Actions
- Development experience with Kotlin or Java
- Monitoring experience with Dynatrace
- Experience with SQL (Postgres) and database management
- Familiarity with Message Brokers / Event Streaming systems like Kafka or MQ
