IT Engineer (remote) in PORTUGAL

We are seeking a talented IT Engineer for completely remote position.

Job Summary: As an IT Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing our development platforms, supporting and guiding our development team in adopting best practices, and ensuring access to the latest technologies and methodologies. You’ll lead training sessions, track industry trends, and work collaboratively to optimize development efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert guidance on implementing and optimizing development platforms.
• Organize and conduct training sessions and workshops to upskill the team on current technologies and methodologies.
• Monitor industry trends and incorporate emerging technologies into the organization’s development practices.
• Track open-source frameworks to ensure adherence to industry standards and internal compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between development strategies and business objectives.
• Develop and maintain clear documentation and best practice guides.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes that enhance development efficiency and quality.
• Identify pain points in development and DevOps processes, generating and implementing improvement plans for faster, higher-quality delivery.
• Act as a proactive point of contact, responding to needs raised across channels and planning workshops to address them.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development or relevant skill set.
• Strong knowledge of development platforms, tools, and methodologies, including .NET and Java.
• Proven experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to organize and conduct effective training sessions.
• Familiarity with industry standards and compliance for open-source frameworks.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Fluent in English, with the capability to communicate and collaborate effectively with offshore candidates.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in DevOps processes and tools.
• General technical knowledge of software development, with the ability to adapt and learn as needed.
• Proactive, with the ability to share experiences and best practices, fostering continuous improvement within the team.
