They have embarked on a global digital transformation and are seeking a Workday Technical Authority to join their team and ensure the success of this project. As the Workday Technical Authority, you will be accountable for reviewing all changes to the global HR solutions from an IT perspective. This role is crucial for minimising risks associated with changes and ensuring alignment with existing business process designs and their technical implementation. We seek someone deeply committed to the value of HR systems, understanding their support for day-to-day operations, and the importance of improving processes in a risk-free manner to deliver real business benefits. You will be their first technical gatekeeper, ensuring that changes do not adversely impact the use of HR applications.


Key Responsibilities, Workday Technical Authority include:


  • Change Assessment: Evaluate proposed changes to HR applications, ensuring they follow the relevant change process and assessing their impact on business processes.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide input to the Design CoE, recommend standard changes, and attend Services CAB meetings for technical input.
  • Quality Assurance: Review nonstandard changes, provide feedback on regression and design quality, and QA solutions before production delivery.
  • Risk Management: Support the release manager in assessing risks around changes applied to the production environment.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with process owners and senior leadership to facilitate understanding of technical changes and obtain feedback and approvals.
  • Third-Party Support: Guide third parties supporting or developing the application to minimise errors and assist in significant incidents.
  • Project Interaction: Collaborate with projects to ensure understanding of application configuration and management, ensuring compliance with required ways of working.


Skills and Experience Required for Workday Technical Authority include:


  • Solid IT Development and or Configuration experience
  • Technical expertise with HR Application Workday, ideally including Payroll integrations
  • Strong ability to engage, build relationships with, and influence senior leadership and key business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical solutions in a way that business users can understand.
  • Good understanding of IT General Controls and their application across the IT landscape.
  • Proficiency in English
