ABOUT THE ROLE
MightyFly is looking for a Head of Information Technology to join our small but highly capable team. As the Head of IT, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s information technology systems and infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud-based services, and cybersecurity systems. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives and growth plans, focusing on leveraging IT to enhance operational efficiency, improve product quality, and drive innovation in the aerospace industry.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure and applications essential for ongoing business operations
- Monitor and mitigate IT risks related to data security, intellectual property protection, and operational continuity, implementing robust controls and contingency plans as needed
- Acquisition and management of network, hardware, software, and cloud infrastructure resources
- Lead the planning and build out of IT infrastructure from the ground up at our future office location.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal value and performance
- Maintain IT infrastructure to support the flight test team including site-to-site VPN, ground control station (GCS) computing equipment, and remote internet connectivity
- Provision users and oversee hardware rollouts
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to our company to proactively identify opportunities for improvement
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Technical
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years experience in an IT leadership role including hands-on experience with computer hardware, software, networking, security, cloud technology.
- Expertise managing and optimizing IT infrastructure, data management, and cybersecurity best practices
- Experience conducting cost benefit analyses and demonstrating results to drive technology support solutions
- Experience in planning and design of IT infrastructure from the ground up at a new office.

- Familiarity with aviation certification standards & processes
