The Role
We seek a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic and distributed team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in frontend and backend development. This role involves owning features, interacting with Product and Design professionals, helping drive requirements, and contributing to our solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Be comfortable designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems to support our web applications.
Implement efficient APIs and other backend components.
Contribute to system stability, performance, and scalability.
Develop and maintain frontend applications.
Be experienced with Next.js and Node.js.
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
Promote coding standards and best practices with peers, including test automation and focus on end-to-end ownership.
Work closely with Product Analysts, Designers, QA, and other team members to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
Engage with product managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and customer needs.
Communicate across functions within the team, ensuring all team members are on the same page.
Share technical information and project updates regularly with the team and stakeholders.
Participate in product discussions to provide technical insights and help shape the product vision.
Contribute to decision-making processes to foster a sense of ownership and collaboration.
Ensure that documentation is accessible and useful for current and future team members.
Desired Background
Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in English and Spanish.
Solid experience in full-stack web development in Node.js and Next.js, focusing on designing and implementing scalable systems.
Excellent code review and best practice implementation.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Performance tuning and optimization of Node.js+Next.js applications.
Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
Solid understanding of database design and optimization, with experience in SQL databases.
Bonus Skills
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
