IT Application Engineer / Administrator (relocation to the Netherlands) in PORTUGAL

We are seeking a talented IT Application Engineer / Administrator willing to relocate to or currently located in Brussels, Belgium.

In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of various applications in both production and non-production environments. You will contribute to the optimization of performance, ensure high availability of services, and provide technical support to maintain smooth operations. This position requires someone with a strong understanding of application management and support practices, coupled with the ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and automate administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and administer applications in production and non-production environments.
• Monitor application performance, tune for optimal efficiency, and implement continuous improvements.
• Provide application support, maintenance, and troubleshooting, handling incident, change, release, and problem management activities.
• Create and validate comprehensive application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup, and restore plans.
• Automate recurring system administration activities and provide clear technical documentation for installation and support.
• Maintain and develop the technical knowledgebase to support ICT Operations, contributing to the structuring and enhancement of operational processes.
• Report on application availability, performance, capacity, and overall usage to ensure optimal operation and resource planning.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in application administration, configuration, and support in a production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience in automating system administration tasks and creating technical support documentation.
• Familiarity with application monitoring tools and incident management processes.
• Knowledge of backup and restore procedures, along with disaster recovery planning.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment, contributing to a knowledge-sharing culture.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in reporting and documenting processes.
