Location: Remote (work from anywhere), with availability for calls/meetings 8am - 6pm EST

We’re seeking a creative and motivated freelance graphic designer to join the PureBites® team. The ideal graphic designer will work on a flexible ad hoc basis, contributing to a variety of exciting projects that showcase your creativity and design skills.

Pure Treats is a leader in natural dog & cat treats and food, and has been offering pet-parents pure, natural and nutrient rich options since 2005. PureBites® and PureSnacks® branded products are available through leading North American pet specialty stores as well as in retailers such as Petco & PetSmart, Walmart, and online at Amazon & Chewy. Pure Treats is a fast-growing CPG company that has been leading the market in its categories for over 15 years.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the marketing team to design packaging, brochures, and advertisements.
• Developing creative concepts, graphics, and layouts for product illustrations, company branding, social media content, websites, and promotional materials.
• Execute on creative briefs, from concept to execution for various marketing initiatives.
• Maintain brand consistency across all visual materials.
• Retouch and crop images as needed for various media.
• Manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Ensure files are organized, properly named, and archived for future use

Desired Qualifications, Competencies, and Skills:

• Proven experience in graphic design, especially in packaging and promotional materials.
• Creative design skills with a solid understanding of colour palettes.
• Attention to detail. Ability to manage your time and meet project deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and responsiveness.
• A Fast learner with the ability to work independently and prioritize requests with a high sense of urgency when required.
• Experience with creating a cohesive brand look & feel across multiple designs and touchpoints
• Degree or diploma in graphic design: 2 years

Must Have:

•Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop in particular)

•Understanding of design requirements for print (bleed, safe zones, color profile, etc...)

•Understanding of colour profiles and color-matching between printing on multiple materials and digital

Nice to Have:

•Basic animation/video editing skills

•Comfort with creating scalable vector graphics (SVGs)

•Creative copy writing experience

•Experience with email design

•Responsive web design experience. Knowledge of Shopify web design is an asset.

•Expert in Adobe Indesign

•Bilingual (English & French)

•Love of everything dogs and cats!

• Rates: $40-$50 / hour USD ($50-$60 CAD)
• Average commitment: 10-20hrs per month. However, work does fluctuate between 0 - 40hrs per month depending on priorities.
