Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for creating mechanical designs for various cabin components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for aircraft cabin furnishings such as galleys, baggage bins, cabinets, side-ledges, tables, interior doors, seats, divan arrangements, armrests, upholstery, lavatories, decorative panels, and carpets.

• Collaborate with the Manager of Mechanical Design Engineering to optimize workflow efficiency and design processes.
• Ensure that all designs meet Certification Basis, Rules and Regulations, Means of Compliance, and relevant interpretations.

Core Tasks:

• Review interior design specifications and create detailed mechanical drawings for assembly and installation.
• Select suitable equipment, components, and materials for cabin designs.
• Create system definitions, specifications, and test plans, and prepare reports.
• Develop engineering design standards and prepare installation instructions and test procedures.
• Aim to achieve lightweight, cost-effective mechanical design solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field within aviation.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a mechanical design engineer, or 5 years of hands-on experience, preferably in aviation or cabinet design.
• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiar with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of German or French is a plus.
