PHP Developer in SLOVAKIA

The IT department of e-commerce web service based in Slovakia is looking for PHP developers. 

This job assumes relocation to Bratislava, Slovakia. It is an office based position. We assist with relocation and obtaining a residence permit if needed

We are an e-commerce company, selling furniture to Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Croatia through a few websites like novynabytok.sk, zondo.hu and several more.

The office, based in Bratislava, has a relaxed professional environment with English, Spanish, Slovak and Russian speakers.

The job entails developing the customer facing website as well as a bunch of internal systems, made in PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, CouchDB, JavaScript (Mainly React), React Native and a few more minorly used technologies.

You are:

You are a decisive developer, able to work independently within a team. You also have experience of building web portals including maintaining databases, organizing and deploying code and implementing new features and technologies.

Your wish and ability to improve yourself, workflow and company architecture is also very welcome, provided that you come with proven ideas. We strive to step our game up, navigating between current business requirements and future challenges as we can.

Requirements

• 3+ years working experience developing for web
• PHP, SQL
• HTML/CSS (HTML5, CSS3)
• Experience with version control (Git)
• No fear to get your hands dirty with legacy spaghetti (we still have quite a lot of it) or rapid solutions when business requires them (happens, rarely)
• A firm and weighted approach to code with attention to detail
• Lack of fear to ask a question: in our team questions and discussions are a plus
• Ability to communicate in English, the interview will be in English

Nice-to-haves:

• Linux server administration
• JS, React
• Understanding of software design principles, especially Domain Driven Design
• Document-based databases (we use CouchDB)
• Task systems (e.g. Jira, we use Youtrack)
• Templating modules for PHP (we use Mustache)
• Mobile development with React Native
• Message Brokers (we use RabbitMQ)
