About This Job
As IT Operations Engineer you are responsible for configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network components of all our internal magenta applications and platforms. You ensure optimal performance, reliability and stability and play a crucial role in our transformation towards a modern agile IT and DevOps collaboration model by implementing and enforcing cloudification, automation, security measures and a new way of working. Your expertise and dedication contribute significantly to our high-class IT transformation within Deutsche Telekom.

- Ensuring the proper operation of application/infrastructure availability
- Carrying out error analyses and analysis of technical malfunctions and troubleshooting
- Monitoring and analysis of stability, capacity, and performance
- Receiving, handling, and updating of incident tickets
- Identifying the need for action at system or process level, advising management on technical aspects of operation
- Collaboration in optimization/modernization projects like cloudification, automation or security
- Contributing to the further development of the level of automation in the deployment of the application release
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including internal penetration and vulnerability scans
- Development, refinement and documentation of policies, processes, procedures, and their implementation and use for operations management
- Contribution/Leading of (complex), cross-functional sub-projects
- Fostering a DevOps mindset and collaboration model including processes and tooling
- Working with agile tools on daily basis
And, would be nice if you have:
- 3+ years’ experience of system administration or similar positions
- Experience in managing and administering operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Unix
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and experiences with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Ability to write scripts or code using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate routine tasks and streamline operations
- Knowledge in monitoring and diagnostic tools to proactively identify and resolve issues, such as network monitoring tools, log analyzers, and performance monitoring utilities
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues
- Communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, understand user requirements, and provide technical support.
- Knowledge of ITIL, DevOps and agile mindset and working methods
- Willingness to continuously update knowledge and skills in the rapidly evolving field of IT operations, including staying up-to-date with industry trends and certifications
- German language is a plus (but not a must!) or willingness to gain some basic language knowledge
