Backend Developer in EUROPEAN UNION

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of robust, scalable, and efficient backend systems for our applications. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including programmers, designers, data scientists, and infrastructure experts, to create and maintain backend services that support millions of users. You will have the opportunity to influence the entire development process, from design to deployment, and collaborate on the challenges of maintaining live systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend functionality to ensure system stability, security, and scalability
• Develop and integrate external services and APIs with backend systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code and ensure comprehensive testing and code coverage
• Troubleshoot and resolve live system issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions
• Collaborate on feature planning and execution, driving product development based on key objectives
• Monitor and optimize performance using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and other monitoring platforms
• Participate in the on-call rotation for live system support and maintenance
• Support other developers with tooling, features, and technical guidance

Requirements

• Proven experience in backend development with proficiency in languages such as C# (.NET) or Python (Flask, FastAPI)
• Strong knowledge of working with databases (SQL, MongoDB)
• Experience in building and operating scalable applications for a large user base
• Familiarity with REST-based API development and integration of third-party services
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Proficiency in unit testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest) and performance testing tools
• Understanding of both stateful and stateless server architectures
• Experience with frontend technologies and REST APIs is a plus

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with monetization strategies, including app store integrations
• Familiarity with serialization frameworks like Pydantic
• Knowledge of game development tools such as Unity
