DevOps Automation Engineer (relocation to Malta) in GERMANY

As a DevOps Automation Engineer, you will collaborate with various teams to automate infrastructure, optimize deployments, and ensure secure, high-performance environments for Altenar's products. You will focus on maintaining efficient CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and managing key databases. Strong Linux administration skills and knowledge of Ansible are required. Debugging, especially for ClickHouse and PostgreSQL, is a significant advantage, while Kubernetes and AI-related experience are highly desirable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Deploy, administer, and scale Kubernetes clusters.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for Kubernetes applications.
  • Implement and manage GitOps workflows using Flux for automated deployments.
  • Design and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Terraform.
  • Administer systems on Google Cloud Platform, including storage, virtual machines, and DNS.
  • Support and manage Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
  • Administer databases, particularly ClickHouse and PostgreSQL.
  • Debug issues with databases and optimize their performance.
  • Manage messaging systems like Kafka.
  • Implement monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and Zabbix.
  • Work with big data technologies like Spark, building high-availability clusters.
  • Automate tasks using Python and Bash scripting.
  • Develop and implement DevOps solutions for Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse (DWH) systems, streamlining data flows and improving system efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Strong Linux administration skills.
  • Proven experience in DevOps, with a focus on automation and CI/CD.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible and managing cloud services.
  • Proficiency in managing and debugging ClickHouse and PostgreSQL will be an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with AI-related infrastructure and tools.
  • While a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science is highly desirable, equivalent work experience in the field will also be considered.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Experience with Spark (Kubernetes or Hadoop-based clusters).
  • Familiarity with AI and AI-related infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of database setup and management with ClickHouse and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Kafka (on-prem using cp-ansible or Strimzi).
  • Basic Python development skills.
  • Understanding of JVM performance and garbage collection (GC) processes.
