This position will work closely with internal stakeholders, senior management, and Procurement leadership to lead and participate in Strategic Sourcing projects across APAC. This role will engage proactively with all internal stakeholders to support strategic priorities and drive business objectives, expense reduction initiatives as well as provide consultative support to resolve business challenges and conduct data analysis that will be the basis for supply-side strategic decision making.


This role will champion the execution of strategic sourcing with a goal of optimizing spend, mitigating risk, maximizing savings, assuring quality and delivery of services and products to Chubb. To ensure success, you should demonstrate mastery of negotiation strategies and have had extensive experience in a similar role.


This position reports to the AVP, COG Sourcing Lead who is responsible for Strategic Sourcing across APAC, EMEA and LATAM.


Responsibilities:


  • Sell the value of the Sourcing function, influencing stakeholders to engage with Sourcing and follow due process
  • Local advocacy and coordination of multi-regional Sourcing engagements led directly or by other members of the global Strategic Sourcing department
  • Establish and lead project teams throughout a full Strategic Sourcing cycle, including supplier identification and selection, price negotiation, and contract “red-lining” in collaboration with Legal counterparts for MSA’s, Schedules, SOW’s, etc.
  • Responsible for development of Strategic Sourcing opportunities pipeline through the introduction of a competitive marketplace, demand management, supplier consolidation, and process reengineering
  • Manage or participate in, high value Sourcing engagements of varying spend, risk, and complexity levels within the following Sourcing categories: Desktop and Enterprise Software; Third-Party Software Asset Management and other related services; Application Development; Contingency and Retained Recruitment; Relocation Services; Audit, Tax and Treasury Services; Capital Equipment and Facilities Services, Management Consulting; Temporary Labor, Information Technology and Business Outsourcing; IT Network Infrastructure; IT Security; Information Technology Advisory and Outsourcing; Telecommunications, Mainframe and others
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders across APAC
  • Align with business clients on approach and schedule for the sourcing projects and related contract(s) negotiations
  • Demonstrate world class communication techniques (including oral, written and presentation) with key business stakeholders regarding project approach, scope, key issues, status, business requirements, and relevant dependencies
  • Lead discovery of savings opportunities for new sourcing engagements, and work with clients to achieve optimal results
  • Ensure delivery of cost reductions/savings to the greatest extent possible


Additional Items for consideration:


  • Analyzing and calculating procurement costs and developing cost reduction strategies
  • Leading purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis, as well as market trends
  • Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality
  • Conducting market research, as well as creating cost estimates and forecasts
  • Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques, as well as negotiating contracts that comply with industry regulations
  • Maintaining Strategic Sourcing relationships and developing strong partnerships both inside the firm and with suppliers external to the firm


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, logistics, or in a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years’ procurement experience in a related or equally complex industry
  • World class organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills including ability to use data to drive decision making
  • Leading problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and gain commitment from senior management, indirect reports, and colleagues
  • Exceptional ability to influence stakeholders and drive groups with divergent opinions toward effective, collaborative decisions
  • Best-in-class supplier relationship and conflict management skills
  • Leading oral and written communications and influencing skills
  • Ability to effectively summarize program status and create PowerPoint presentations for senior management
  • Able to navigate a global matrixed organization, influence stakeholders and affect outcomes. Ability to gain trust and influence with limited direct authority
  • Ability to think outside the box, multi-task, and work well under pressure, to identify issues and work to resolve them in partnership with senior management
