Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and technical IT Application Manager to manage our stowage planning applications, ensuring continuous integration and operational excellence for our fleet's onboard and onshore stowage systems. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle management of our applications, collaborating with vendors, coordinating project rollouts, and providing support to our onshore teams and vessel crews. This role requires a proactive and hands-on individual who excels in troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Lifecycle management: Oversee and manage the lifecycle of onboard and onshore stowage planning applications, including third-party software development, vendor management, quality assurance, testing, and deployment support.
- Application Integration & Network Coordination: Work closely with platform providers to integrate applications into our IT system landscape and corresponding networks and servers, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with organizational standards.
- Project coordination: Lead and coordinate development and rollout projects for systems and applications across onshore and onboard environments, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.
- User Support & Troubleshooting: Serve as a key point of contact for onshore users and vessel crews, providing advanced (3rd level) support in collaboration with platform providers to resolve issues related to servers, networks, database management, and operating systems.
- Documentation & Compliance: Develop and maintain comprehensive standards, procedures, and documentation to uphold the integrity, security, and compliance of all applications and systems.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including IT, fleet management, network operations, and business stakeholders.
- Digitalization & Future Proofing: Drive the evolution of onshore and onboard IT systems by exploring new technologies and digitalization opportunities, ensuring the sustainability and future-readiness of our fleet operations.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Vocational training or a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Minimum 3 years of experience in related field. Strong knowledge of servers, networks, databases, operating systems, client-server applications with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and application support (remotely and on site).
- Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage and deliver projects in a complex and fast-paced environment, with experience in coordinating cross-functional teams and vendor partnerships.
- Data Governance & Security: Solid understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance principles, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of application data.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management, end users, and external contractors.
- Hands-on Problem Solving: Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues at the application, network, and infrastructure levels. Ability to collaborate with and manage different stakeholders inside of the IT department as well as from business (e.g. Fleet Management, Network Operations)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with stowage planning solutions (e.g., CAPSTAN, STOWMAN, MACS3, OBI, Lashmate, Loadstar) or general procedures within the logistics and shipping industry.
- Flexibility & Willingness to Travel: Availability for international business trips as needed to support global operations and engage with stakeholders.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in business English, both written and verbal, with additional language skills.
