We are seeking a talented IT Application Production Support Engineer willing to relocate to or currently located in Brussels, Belgium.


As an IT Application Production Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational quality, availability, and business continuity of IT systems. Working within the Application Production Support squad, you will be responsible for the end-to-end (E2E) Level 2 and Level 3 production support of applications related to Payments, Daily Banking, and Risk & Credits. Your mission includes:

  • Providing L2 & L3 support for go-lives, service availability, and on-call 24/7 services.
  • Ensuring the smooth deployment of new business releases and IT operational support.
  • Maintaining high operational standards while balancing time-to-market and system reliability.


Objectives:

  • Ensure that handover-to-operation processes, including knowledge documentation and monitoring, are fully applied.
  • Ensure alignment with group-wide incident, problem, change, and request management processes.
  • Support teams in adopting agile practices with a clear framework, autonomy, and accountability, with leadership acting as servant leaders.
  • Contribute to an efficient, high-quality first and second-line support for all IT solutions.


Context of the Mission:

You will be part of a production support squad responsible for business and technical applications across multiple domains. This squad is accountable for supporting applications related to Daily Banking, Payments, and Risk & Credits in both QA and Production environments. Collaboration with international partners, particularly around the Money Transfer System (MTS) and other backend applications, is essential to ensure smooth deployments and operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Application Support (Run & Deployment):
  • Handle incidents in both QA and Production environments, particularly within the Payments Tribe.
  • Ensure timely and correct deployments, ensuring that they are fully implemented and functional in the operational environments.
  • Assist in preparing detailed runbooks, identifying stakeholders, and coordinating actions.
  • Analyze technical dependencies between components and ensure Current State Architecturedocumentation is kept up to date.
  • Create and maintain all necessary support documentation.
  1. Incident Management:
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents, documenting the resolution progress and solutions.
  • Analyze root causes of incidents and implement solutions, escalating to the Incident Manager when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Scrum Master to ensure timely and efficient resolution of incidents.


Mandatory Skills & Experience:

  • Linux OS (Medior level)
  • Oracle/SQL Databases (Medior level)
  • Experience in automated batch scheduling
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation (every 4 weeks)


Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Mainframe z/OS:
  • DB2 for z/OS, SQL, SPUFI
  • DB2 and IMS utilities
  • TSO/ISPF, JCL
  • Cobol
  • Experience in Unix/Linux scripting (Powershell)
  • Knowledge of MQ Series
  • Familiarity with CTRL-M distributed scheduling
  • Second-line support experience
  • Some knowledge of cloud environments
  • Experience in the deployment of business applications
