[Relocation to Japan] Sr DevOps Engineer in JAPAN

Glints' client is seeking a Bilingual (English & Japanese) DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the development, and implementation of their infrastructure and applications. Your primary focus will be to streamline and automate our operations and processes, ensuring seamless integration between development and operations teams. The ideal candidate should be proactive, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be familiar with modern DevOps practices.

This role requires relocation to Tokyo, Japan.

Must haves: AWS, CI/CD, Japanese speaking (N3+), fluent English (C1+)

Budget: 6000+ USD & relocation package & Visa


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement infrastructure solutions.
  • Streamline and automate our operations and processes, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery. 
  • Continuously monitor systems and applications, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and issues proactively.
  • Develop and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Promote and enforce best practices related to code deployment, branching, and infrastructure management.
  • Implement efficient containerization and orchestration solutions using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on systems architecture, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Understanding of container orchestration platforms like OpenShift 


Technical Skills required 

- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of modern DevOps principles, practices, and tools.

- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and infrastructure.

- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with tools such as

Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD

- Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as

Kubernetes.

- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration, networking, and security best

practices.

- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or

similar.

- proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and automation tools

(e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex

systems and infrastructure issues.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities

effectively.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.

- Should have over all ITSM basic knowledge on MIM, Change, Problem, KB

  1. Requirements
  • Proven work experience as a specialist in Monitoring batch jobs and taking necessary action.
  • Hands-on experience using Control M
  • Working experience on monitoring system console
  • Strong experience on Perform system startup/shutdown - IPL
  • Actively participated in DR backups
  • Handling contentions & Space issues in Batch job
  • Control- M distributed environment knowledge to handle the failure of server job
  • Priority/ job class management
  • Very good understanding to Provide overrides & restarting jobs
  • Experience on Handling Job error
  • Communicate to appropriate stakeholder promptly
  • Good Understand about SLA management
  • Handling Incident management: Error logging
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
  • Language: Must Bilingual (Japanese & English)
  • Should be open minded to work as a team (we have offshore team)
  • Should be open minded to train onshore and offshore teams.

Preferred Skills (not required but considered a plus):

  • Certification(s) in DevOps-related areas such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks and methodologies, such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
