We are seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer willing to relocate to or currently located in Brussels, Belgium.


In this role, you will collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers from our Cloud and DevSecOps teams to implement best practices and ensure technical excellence across multiple projects. Utilizing open-source frameworks like LangChain and Azure-based tools, including the Azure AI Services suite, you will maintain and expand our repository of AI assets. Your innovative mindset will help identify and develop state-of-the-art solutions that deliver business value, while your commitment to staying current with AI advancements will ensure our team remains at the forefront of technology.

As a member of the Machine Learning Enablers team, you will actively research and develop agent-based AI use cases, focusing on multi-agent systems. Your work will support the day-to-day needs of our data scientists through the practical maintenance and enhancement of AI assets, while also driving innovation in our AI initiatives.


Responsibilities:

• Develop and Maintain our Generative AI Repository

• Manage and expand our repository of reusable Generative AI components on Azure DevOps, ensuring it’s robust, up-to-date, and user-friendly, and implements MLOps standards.

• Collaborate with data scientists to identify new components to build, provide technical support, and promote best practices in using the repository.

• Develop and Implement Agent-Based AI Solutions

• Research and experiment with multi-agent systems and emerging frameworks to address real-world use cases in Proximus’ context.

• Develop proof-of-concept projects to validate innovative multi-agent AI applications.

• Design and create reusable components that enable data scientists to integrate agent-based approaches into their projects.

• Collaborate and Drive Technical Excellence

• Implement and promote machine learning best practices (e.g., MLFlow), ensuring high-quality standards across the team.

• Collaborate with Cloud and DevSecOps engineers to ensure we deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable AI solutions, contributing to setting technical and architectural standards.

• Stay current with the latest trends, models, and frameworks, and communicate them to the team.


Education:

•Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

• A Ph.D. is a plus, especially with research in Generative AI or agent-based systems.



Professional Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a business environment.

• Proven experience working with generative AI models and LLMs in real-world projects.

• Demonstrated ability to develop proof-of-concept projects, and transition innovative solutions to production-ready components.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working alongside a diverse team of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Skills

• Strong coding skills in Python, with proficiency in software development best practices, including version control (e.g., Git) and DevOps (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).

• Hands-on experience implementing MLOps best practices (e.g., experiment tracking with MLFlow).

• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure AI Services.

• Experience with LangChain and other Generative AI frameworks.

• Ability to drive innovation by experimenting with new techniques and frameworks to solve real-world problems.

• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures and improvement techniques.

• Strong communication skills for providing technical support, mentorship, and clear guidance to team members.

• Strong collaboration skills and ability to manage tasks independently.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Experience contributing to the development of reusable AI components or libraries, contributions to open-source AI projects.

• Experience with multi-agent systems and related frameworks (e.g. LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen).

• Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation tools for generative AI applications.

• Fluent in English and preferably also French and/or Dutch.
