Role Overview:
As the Director of Game Development, you will lead the strategy, design, and execution of our social casino game portfolio, with a focus on 3D interactive games. You will drive innovation and quality, ensuring our games meet the highest standards in gameplay and user experience. This role involves managing and mentoring a team of engineers, aligning game development with business goals, and staying ahead of industry trends. Remote work is available, though we also offer relocation assistance for candidates interested in joining us at our headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Leadership: Define the vision and roadmap for the development of innovative 3D social casino games.
- Game Development: Lead the end-to-end design and development of interactive slot games, ensuring seamless gameplay and engaging user experiences.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other departments to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Innovation: Stay ahead of trends in the iGaming industry and continuously explore new technologies to enhance our game portfolio.
- Quality Control: Oversee the implementation of testing, debugging, and optimization processes to maintain the highest standards of quality.
- Scalability: Ensure the platform and games can scale effectively as the user base grows, providing an immersive experience for all players.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior game development role, with a strong track record of successful game launches, ideally within the slot gaming industry.
- Strong experience in real-money slot game development is essential.
- Good understanding of slot game mechanics, player psychology, and the online gaming market.
- Proven experience creating scalable modular architecture for real-money slot games.
- Experience launching casino products in new markets will be considered a strong advantage
- Knowledge of game development tools, engines, and technologies ( PixiJS, Typescript, ReactJS, HTML5).
- Experience with frameworks such as Pixi.js and Phaser, and knowledge of WebGL and other relevant frameworks.
- Extensive experience managing and leading technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Ability to balance creativity with commercial considerations.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with multiplayer game design and development.
- Knowledge of Mathematics and Statistics
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and scalable architecture.
