As a Principal Product Manager in Data Infrastructure you will be responsible for defining and driving the product vision for future data infrastructure capabilities. We provide a set of integrated services to ease data pipeline creation and data serving through Databricks, AWS Redshift Airflow) and employing a data lake and the data mesh concept to democratize petabytes of Zalando’s data and make them accessible and impactful to all our internal users.
Together with the engineering and product team, you will build customer centric, secure, scalable and efficient capabilities in our infrastructure to enable more than 5000 colleagues across the business. Our stakeholders enable data driven decision making in their Business units (e.g. Logistics, Marketing, Planning etc) and we empower them. Strong analytical skills and stakeholder management are key success factors for this role.

Improve data experience and user productivity by discovering new product opportunities with a customer-centric mindset, business savvy and performant execution
Closely collaborate with product managers in your team and with stakeholders across the business
Analyse and explain problems and propose solutions with their pros and cons
Drive product development by setting a clear vision and roadmap to achieve ambitious targets supported by data
Facilitate decision making by writing carefully crafted narrative documents which clearly communicate the rationale in an easily digestible and professional manner.
Be a mentor to other colleagues by showcasing deep expertise in your domain and acting as a role model for successful product management.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You are an experienced Product Manager from a Data or Platform domain
You have experience defining and delivering on best practices for scalable infrastructure enablement for big data processing use cases.
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to translate technical functionality into relatable features across multiple teams, align goals and deliverables and drive overall success independent of organisational boundaries
You have experience owning the long and medium term vision and development roadmap for products. You have driven products which have a multi-year horizon for realisation of the full vision
You know how to measure the success of your product and continuously iterate to improve it for the benefit of our partners
You are excited about complex problems, show grit and curiosity at tackling them, while inspiring others
