Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Product Manager, APAC Light Duty Strategy & Innovation reporting directly to the Senior Brand Manager, APAC Light Duty Strategy & Innovation. This is a hybrid opportunity, 2 days remote per week.


Role is responsible for Valvoline Global Operations light duty portfolio architecture unification in the Asia Pacific region. The role will work closely with the Brand Manager, China Light Duty Strategy & Innovation, to ensure the current portfolio pulls together Valvoline cohesively to unify overall Brand identity while enabling regionalize differentiation opportunities to gain unique customer support. The role will perform similar unification activities throughout APAC, with priority in completing the work for China.


The Product Manager will conduct regular engagement with global and regional leaders (Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, R&D, Pricing, Equity, etc.) to align on the most effective product portfolio architecture that meets local needs to drive growth and increase profitability for the business while adhering to global standards and guidelines. He/She will also be the subject matter expert on global packaging design to ensure consistency in implementation across APAC region.


How You’ll Make an Impact:


  • Portfolio Architecture Unification: Utilize market, enterprise, and business unit data to build a vision of the global future APAC VGO visual merchandizing and harmonize the existing portfolio to deliver brand strength. Ensure that visually tiering architecture properly functions to ensure easy differentiation. Implement a structure that unlocks ease of use within various shopping channels in APAC. Partner closely with Equity Creative Services to implement overall vision and unification creatively.


  • Regionalize Differentiation of Innovation Master Plan: Create a long-term product portfolio vision that enables overall unification within the architecture while allowing flexible assets to capture key accounts for expansion and exclusivity. Ensure all customers exclusive elements tie within the larger framework and amplify overall Brand Equity while unlocking in market merchandizing support. Validate all merchandizing vehicles for structure, look, tone, and feel with the master-Brand.


  • Private Label / Co-Brand Architecture and Innovation: Partner with the Senior Brand Manager APAC to deliver an innovation strategy that unlocks opportunities within the Co-Brand / Private Label section of APAC and provides additional growth to Valvoline. Conduct audits and trim any Co-Branded or Private Label activity that does not service the overall Valvoline growth strategy.


  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.


What You’ll Need


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Marketing, Financial or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of related experience in strategy, product development, marketing and/or business development.
  • Cross-cultural experience in APAC.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in English and Mandarin to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, across functions, cultures and with different levels.
  • In this role there is an expectancy of up to 25% travel.


What Will Set You Apart


  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA).
  • Experience working with China market.
  • Knowledge of lubricants industry, market trends, regulations, and key drivers, especially in the Light Duty segment.
  • Proven track record of connecting with customers, driving innovation, and building brand, translating to growth in market share and stronger brand equity.
  • Ability to derive insights and turn them into actions that deliver tangible results.
  • A team player with outstanding communication skills in managing various stakeholders.
  • Embrace ambiguity and possess an inquisitive mind.


Relocation Options:

This position will be in Singapore. Relocation assistance is currently not being considered.
