Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Software Engineer to join our growing team. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will work closely with our senior developers and technical leads to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on experience and grow their skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Team
The development team at Xtracta is comprised of a group of intelligent, inquisitive and capable individuals. They are educated, resourceful and always eager to learn new technologies and approaches. They are very friendly and are all keen to support the successful candidate who fills this position.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of software development fundamentals.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and familiarity with related frameworks and technologies. Preferably

- SQL
- Building and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Working Environment
Xtracta's headquarter is located in Auckland, New Zealand, within walking distance of the Penrose train station. The office boasts great views and is in close proximity of nice cafes. The team is diverse, friendly, and welcoming to all. Xtracta offers a flexible work schedule, with a preference for in-office collaboration, while also acknowledging the possibility of some work from home (remote work) arrangements.
