POSITION OVERVIEW


We are seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Web Engineer to join our dynamic team in developing and maintaining CaseMaker, our cutting-edge tool designed to generate synthetic fictional data and provide an intuitive editing interface for writers. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of our product.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Maintenance & Enhancement of CaseMaker

  • Regularly update and maintain the existing codebase written in Node.js and TypeScript, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
  • Optimize the React front-end for maximum speed and scalability while maintaining a user-friendly experience.


Integration & Development

  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLM) to enhance the tool's capabilities in generating synthetic fictional data.
  • Develop and maintain a robust infrastructure of APIs for efficient communication between the tool's components and external services.


UI/UX Design

  • Collaborate with the design team to implement and refine user interfaces, utilizing a front-end package similar to Tailwind for stylish and responsive design.


Quality Assurance

  • Implement comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the application's reliability and performance.
  • Monitor the application in production and respond swiftly to any technical issues or bugs.


Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to define and achieve project goals.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and encourage best practices.


MUST HAVE


Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience as a Web Engineer or similar role with a strong portfolio of projects.
  • Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and React with a solid understanding of front-end technologies.
  • Experience with front-end design systems similar to Tailwind CSS.
  • Proficiency in integrating and working with Large Language Models (LLM) and API development.


Problem-Solving Skills

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.


Communication & Collaboration

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Experience working in agile development teams and collaborating effectively with other team members.


Educational Background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.


NICE TO HAVE


  • Knowledge of additional frameworks and libraries related to Node.js and React.
  • Experience with cloud services and infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Understanding of security best practices in web development.
