The Industrial Transformation Pathway (ITP) is looking for a high-performing Senior Associate to be part of the Centre for Decarbonization Demand Acceleration project that seeks to stimulate private sector investments in clean fuels and technologies, as well as decarbonized products and servic


es.
The Industrial Transformation Pathway is focused on leveraging the commitment of member companies involved in industrial activities to reduce their GHG impact in a way that is nature positive and socially equitable. We support our members in all phases of industrial activity – extraction, manufacturing/assembly, transport, use and reuse/recycle/recapture – as well as the two systems that industrial activities depend on, Energy and Built Environment. Our focus is helping our members co-create, share and apply the measurement and accountability tools, innovative business processes, peer learnings, and value-chain partnerships that result in credible imp

The Centre for Decarbonized Demand Acceleration (CDDA) is housed within the Industrial Transformation Pathway and responsible for driving the demand activities of the Pathway workstreams, as well as serving as a knowledge, convening and support structure for demand activities across W


BCSD.
As a Senior Associate for the CDDA, you will work closely with all the workstreams within the Industrial Transformation Pathway, the wider WBCSD organization, in particular the other pathways (Circularity and Food & Agriculture) and the Policy team, to bring demand and procurement expertise to WBCSD activities. The position will report to Senior Director, Industrial Pathways and coordinate closely with Pathway senior leadership team, as well as senior leaders throughout

    Supporting WBCSD’s engagement with the Industrial Transformation Accelerator (ITA) housed within the Mission Possible Partnership, work to identify mechanisms and roles needed to de-risk investments in clean fuels and technologies and communicate this information in the format of a “to
  • ol-kit”.In partnership with Pathway leadership and the Corporate Performance and Accountability System (CPAS), help launch and coordinate the Chief Procurement Officer community. This entails outreach to the CPO of WBCSD members, develop the value proposition for this community and creating and managing specific community meetings (especially as part of our yearly LD meeting in Mo
  • ntreux).Contributes and facilitates in the delivery of CDDA service offerings including: creating and maintaining a “demand” ecosystem map; relevant standards and certification schemes harmonization activities; convenings to engender increased demand/supply for decarbonized fuels, technologies and p
  • roducts.Engages with members and partners, enabling communication and fostering collaboration among them, and facilitating engagement to achieve deliv
  • erables.Facilitates member engagement with potential stakeholders and partners, collaborating in exploring new partnerships and initiatives to support organizational obj

The candidate should have at least 4 years of experience working in a procurement or consulting b


  • ackground.
    Bachelor’s degree or Master’s with a background in environmental and/or sustainability studies, resource management, biodiversity, clean energy and/or technologies, development policy, international
  • relations.A minimum of 4 years progressive experience in procurement or consulting, with externa
  • l outreach.Experience managing projects in a dynamic international environment and superb organizational skills with attention to detail. Adaptable and agile to changing circumstances. Ability to work independently and a self-starter. Sense of humor and awareness to take the time to ensure clarity on desired impact and factors
