About The Team

An exciting opportunity has come up to join Nexus as an Administrative Officer. Nexus is a 12-bed acute child and adolescent mental health inpatient unit located at the John Hunter Hospital. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic and innovative team and support them to provide excellent care to our young people.

About The Job

Provide timely and accurate administration transactional services to support the provision of clinical services across the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Inpatient unit (NEXUS) under the direction of the Nursing Unit Manager/Nurse Manager (NUM/NM) CAMHS Inpatient Unit and under the line management of CAMHS Administration Manager.

Tasks involve but are not limited to high quality customer service as a person of first contact including, telephone, email enquiries and personal contact with clients; Provide support to data entry, recruitment, payroll rosters, purchase requisitions, unpaid invoices, receipting, and record keeping. The Nexus Administration Officer will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action.

We are seeking someone who is innovative, flexible, enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment, and is driven to provide a welcoming environment for young people, families and carers. This position will benefit from having a working knowledge of iProcurement, Stafflink, HealthRoster, iPM, AFM, Microsoft Office Suite and the Mental Health Act.

What We Can Offer You

In this role you will be directly line managed and supported by the CAMHS administration manager. The Nexus Nurse Manager and Nurse Unit Manager provide on the ground day to day support for this position. CAMHS admin team meet monthly to support one another and get updates around any appropriate training opportunities for admin staff. Monthly rounding is also undertaken with the admin manager to ensure adequate supports are in place.
