Our partner a fast-growing global provider of SaaS-based critical communications and enterprise safety solutions, is actively seeking a Principal Network Engineer to join their team based in Hungary. This is a homebased/remote position that can be based anywhere in Hungary.

During public safety threats such as Earthquakes, Tsunami’s, Floods, Fires as well as active assailant, terrorist attack or missing persons, Governments and agencies rely on our partner's Public Warning platform to alert their citizens at risk quickly and reliably, automate the execution of pre-defined communications processes, and track progress on executing response plans.

Your new role

• Design and implement resilient and scalable network infrastructures, blending physical and cloud-based solutions to meet our dynamic needs.
• Automate routine network tasks and assess their efficiency to streamline operations.
• Rapidly diagnose and resolve network issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring consistent network availability.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, adhering to best practices and security standards.
• Proactively monitor network performance and security, identifying and mitigating risks before they impact operations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of network setups, configurations, and architectures, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Keep abreast of the latest networking trends, technologies, and best practices, assessing their relevance and potential integration into our infrastructure.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues to enhance the overall IT infrastructure, sharing insights and offering cross-functional support.
• Mentor junior network engineers and IT staff, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous professional growth.
• Engage in strategic project planning and execution, aligning network solutions with business goals and requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional certifications such as NSE, CCNP or CCDP are highly valued.
• 4+ years of experience in network administration, showcasing a solid track record.
• 2+ years Microsoft Azure networking experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimization.
• 4+ years of experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Experience working within an Agile framework.
• Experience in IaC development with Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, and Ansible.
• Experience scripting with Python and PowerShell.
• Proficiency in network security practices, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control mechanisms.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying and addressing network issues swiftly.
• A self-starter attitude, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and Agile methodologies is a plus.
• Deep understanding of communication protocols, especially TCP/IP, and routing protocols like BGP and OSPF.
• Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
