Our client is a major manufacturer of fabricated steel for a wide variety of equipment, services and products. This particular location manufactures large enclosure systems, Giant Mills and Oil Tanks are examples. They're an industry leader with a major need for a Quality Manager to join their team and immediately make a positive impact in their environment. This person will report into the General Manager with a major drive in: improve lagging KPI’s, Developing COPQ Metrics, driving SOPs, and improving customer satisfaction with quality issues.


This role brings:

  • Direct Hire Day 1
  • $80,000 - 90,000 Salary + Bonus (Performance Based)
  • Relocation assistance if needed
  • Normal, 8AM - 5PM Shift


The Quality Manager position is responsible for tank and enclosure quality assurance. Responsibilities includes developing, maintaining, and improving quality systems, coaching, leading, and influencing the quality culture to consistently deliver the highest quality product to our customers. This position will monitor production operations and improve processes by auditing and analyzing process outputs to increase efficiency in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all efforts of quality and continuous improvement teams
  • Lead workgroups to solve quality problems
  • Lead and develop the quality team
  • Serve as the primary owner of tank and enclosure quality systems and programs
  • Represent Greiner during site audits for UL, STI, customers, and other agencies
  • Lead and/or participate in business level quality initiatives
  • Working closely with the production team and the customer to achieve the best solutions and drive continuous improvement
  • Manage and lead customer complaint processes
  • Perform system analyses, institute, and monitor quality indicators
  • Participate in the prevention and remedy of quality problems through technical contributions and management/moderation of problem-solving team
  • Review the effectiveness of corrective measures
  • Establish leading and lagging quality KPI’s, Develop COPQ metrics
  • Drive improved SOP’s for all facets of manufacturing, assembly, and integration
  • Work with operations team to drive improved welding processes where certified welding is required
  • Establish monthly customer conference calls concerning quality and field service issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred
  • 10+ years of quality related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Mastery of team leadership abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Previous management experience in quality assurance
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using quality systems and tools
  • Knowledge of analytical processes
  • Mastery of verbal and written communication
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel Spreadsheets
  • Reliable, organized, detail oriented and able to function at high level in fast paced manufacturing environment
