We're seeking a SEO Lead to join our Liligo Marketing team in Barcelona (hybrid). If you're ready to soar, we're ready to take you there.

Liligo is a travel search engine that compares plane tickets, train, bus, car rental and hotel offers in one click. You can compare all offers on the same platform to find the best prices and simplify the preparation of your trip.

This person will lead Liligo’s SEO strategy, execution, and performance, ensuring the company maintains a strong organic search presence across its key markets, including France, the US, Spain, Germany, Italy, Australia, and Hungary. This role requires an in-depth understanding of SEO in the travel industry, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive growth.

What You Will Do

The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • SEO Strategy Development and Execution:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive SEO strategy aligned with Liligo’s business goals, focusing on increasing organic traffic, searches, and leads.
  • Prioritize SEO projects based on KPIs like Revenue Per Visit (RPV), Lead Per Search (LPS), and Revenue Per Search (RPS).
  • Continuously adapt strategies to account for market changes and algorithm updates, particularly focusing on the flight section where traffic trends need close monitoring.
  • Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management:
  • Lead SEO content writers and external resources
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, including the CMO, Head of Sales, Content, IT, Data, and Design teams, ensuring alignment and support for SEO initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external providers and agencies involved in link building, content creation, and technical SEO.
  • Technical SEO and Programmatic SEO (pSEO):
  • Oversee technical SEO initiatives, including site architecture optimization, CMS management, and resolving complex SEO issues tied to legacy systems.
  • Lead programmatic SEO efforts to scale content creation, leveraging data-driven approaches and SQL-based data manipulation to generate pages effectively.
  • Content Strategy and Optimization:
  • Collaborate with the content resources to guide content strategy for commercial and magazine sections, ensuring alignment with SEO best practices.
  • Optimize existing content at scale, utilizing complex keyword research, internal linking strategies, and scoring models to enhance performance.
  • Analytics and Reporting:
  • Monitor and report on SEO performance using tools like Google Search Console, Semrush, Sistrix, and PowerBI, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop and refine a scoring model for internal linking and page prioritization, integrating business metrics with SEO data.
  • Market Expansion and International SEO:
  • Drive the international SEO strategy, focusing on markets where Liligo has recently relaunched. Address challenges such as lack of first-party data and content localization.
  • Collaboration with IT and Data Teams:
  • Maintain a close working relationship with backend and data teams, ensuring seamless execution of technical SEO projects.
  • Utilize GitLab for project management, coordinating with IT for CMS improvements and data-driven SEO enhancements.


What you need to succeed:

Good to have

  • Proven experience in leading SEO for a complex, content-rich platform, ideally within the travel or e-commerce sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, content strategy, and programmatic SEO techniques.
  • Excellent data analysis skills, with experience using SQL, BigQuery, and various SEO tools.
  • Great leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving SEO growth and adapting to changes in search engine algorithms.
  • Fluency in English and French is required.
