MAIN PURPOSE


We are looking for talented IT Technical Support Engineer for a long-term mission in one of our clients, a leader company in the luxury sector. You will reinforce the AIP Integration Support team which is in charge of the IT-4-IT support of the API management team in our client.


You will participate in the support of both development and operations concerns as they relate to the consumption and publication of APIs, the publication of async messages and the maintenance of the API management and Enterprise Messaging platforms. A DevOps mindset is required where you strive to always empower the users through self-service, automation, and observability. Security is considered a hygiene factor and permeates all of your work.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Communicate in fluent spoken and written English with technical and non-technical users at all levels of the organization using a variety of communication channels
  • Support the API management (Kong API gateway) and the Enterprise Messaging platforms (Solace PubSub+).
  • Investigate and resolve incidents related to API connectivity and messaging failures promptly
  • Troubleshoot messaging-related issues and optimize configurations for reliability and scalability
  • Monitor API performance, identify bottlenecks, and inform the different stakeholders (Consumer, Producers) about anomalies
  • Develop documentation and training materials (how-tos, troubleshooting guides) for internal teams on best practices
  • Continually develop skills and expertise around the relevant systems and tools
  • Follow support issues from inception (first contact) through completion even when other parties become involved
  • Report on support trends to the Support Coordinator, Tech Lead, and the team at large
  • Escalate issues as appropriate/necessary based either on technical specificities or business criticality
  • Identify and manage risks and define the corresponding mitigation plan as necessary
  • Execute operational tasks including, but not limited to the deployment of API management assets, maintenance/housekeeping of API management platform, and maintenance/management of Datadog monitoring platform

 

REQUIREMENTS


  • IT professional eager to learn and willing to self-instruct
  • B.Sc. or MSc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • Strong technical background; hands-on experience of both development and operations is a must
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced, distributed environment with high expectations
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting API and messaging issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Familiarity with security protocols and best practices in API and messaging environments
  • Knowledge of API protocols and standards (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and messaging protocols (MQTT, AMQP, Kafka)
  • Certifications in API management (Kong, Apigee) or enterprise messaging systems (Solace) are big plus
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation and integration tasks
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams effectively
  • Excellent in English both written and spoken is a must; other languages are a plus (e.g. French, Chinese).
  • Willing to travel occasionally
  • Holding an ITIL certification is highly valuable
  • The role requires occasional on-call availability for critical issue resolution
  • Live and have a valid work permit in the Spanish territory is mandatory

LOCATION


Fully remote work but based in Spain or any other country in the European Union; ideally you should reside in Principality of Asturias, Spain
