Our client is seeking a visionary Head of AI Labs to lead their global AI research and development efforts. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will oversee a team of 170+ AI Scientists and Engineers dedicated to advancing AI functionalities across our diverse product portfolio.

As the Head of Labs, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's future by driving innovation, enhancing product capabilities, and fostering strategic partnerships with key technology players. Your leadership will be instrumental in positioning them to be at the forefront of technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a clear vision for the Labs, aligning it with the company's overall strategy. Secure buy-in from key stakeholders and provide strategic guidance to the Labs team.
• Team Management: Lead and inspire a global team of AI Scientists and Engineers across multiple locations. Foster a culture of research excellence by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
• AI Development: Drive the development, implementation, and deployment of cutting-edge AI functionalities for products across various domains. Oversee research and innovation processes to deliver significant business value.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the CTO and other functional leaders to ensure alignment of AI initiatives with the company's technology strategy and business goals. Build strong partnerships and foster collaboration across teams.
• Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with major industry players to leverage the latest technological advancements and ensure early engagement in market-leading tech shifts.
• Operational Leadership: Manage Labs' budget, investments, and operations. Provide relevant insights to the CTO and advise on strategic decisions. Ensure continuous improvement of AI methodologies and processes.
• Representation: Be the focal point for AI, Data Science, and ML within the CTO organization and the broader company. Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and events.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in AI research and development, with a proven track record of leading large, distributed teams.
• Proven ability to drive innovation and deliver tangible business results through AI initiatives
• An understanding of AI applications, experience in NLP, search & information retrieval is a plus
• Demonstrated expertise in building and managing strategic partnerships with industry-leading technology companies
• Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse, global team
• Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain world-class talent, fostering a culture of innovation and research excellence
• Proven track record of setting enterprise technology vision and driving successful execution
• Skilled in leading various stakeholders across all enterprise technology functions
• Comfortable excelling in a complex technology organization
• Proven experience driving execution at pace
• Consistent and collaborative approach, demonstrating a humble yet effective leadership style
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
