Telecom Network Security Specialist (6 months contract) in ROMANIA

Details:

• This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. The contract can be structured as B2B or Employment Contract, depending on your preference.
• Compensation: The maximum daily rate we offer is approximately €135 net per day, with an expected work schedule of around 18 days per month.
• Please note that even if this job is full remote, you will be required to be present at our office in Timișoara for one day per month or every two months, depending on the project needs.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Telecom Network Security Specialist to join our team. This role requires deep technical expertise in telecom network interfaces, protocols, and security, particularly in advanced telecom environments such as 5G, LTE, and legacy systems.

You will be responsible for securing telecom networks and ensuring compliance with industry standards, working closely with other teams to maintain the integrity and security of the infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide security expertise in telecom network interfaces and protocols for 5G, LTE, and legacy environments.
• Configure and manage telecom firewalls and support protocols such as SIP, RTP, GTP, SS7, Diameter, TCP, HTTP2.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent application of security policies and standards across telecom environments.
• Develop and automate threat management use cases and recommend improvements in security processes.
• Perform vulnerability management and penetration testing to ensure the security and integrity of telecom networks.
• Contribute to secure configurations and apply application security tools and techniques.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of Linux to build packages from source code, contributing to the stability and security of the telecom infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, or a related field;
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a telecom network security role.
• Hands-on experience with telecom network interfaces and protocols across various layers, including Transport, Network, RAN, and Core.
• Strong understanding of telecom firewalls and experience with industry-specific protocols (e.g., SIP, SS7, Diameter).
• Experience in threat use case development and security process design.
• Solid background in networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies.
• Proficiency in Linux and experience building packages from source code (preferred).
