Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and driven Product Owner to take responsibility for the Dimetra Base Transceiver Station (BTS) product. Our Dimetra technology caters to a broad range of clients, primarily in the government sector, but also in the commercial realm. Upon joining, you will become a part of our Software Engineering department, which includes the BTS software engineering team. The role involves collaboration with the Engineering and Product Management teams to deliver software for the Motorola Solutions Tetra portfolio. You will manage a comprehensive roadmap of new features, together with a team fully responsible for the BTS product lifecycle at our R&D center in Krakow. At present, you will contribute to the development of a new hardware platform for BTS, as well as a vast array of business features for both new and existing customers. We are structured into autonomous scrums, functioning within an agile CI/CV setting.

Basic Requirements

You will

  • Engage with the business and stakeholders, to enable the delivery of the product releases in a business-value-oriented manner.
  • Make swift and definitive decisions related to product development priorities for their associated team(s), taking into account the balance between new features, support, and addressing technical debt in the product backlog..
  • Work with Product Managers, System Architects and Box Architects to understand the product requirements and enable their delivery by the product team.
  • Work alongside and with the development teams, to assist in the creation of well-maintained, refined, prioritized product backlogs that include consistent and measurable “definitions of done”.
  • Contribute to a collaborative cross-functional software delivery culture by negotiating and communicating changes in priority, scope, and timeline.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, to present the current state of the backlog so it is understood by the broader audience.
  • Partner Product Managers with definition of product release plans, including measuring progress towards completion and tracking the predictability,
  • Foster collaboration and communication among team members, stakeholders, and customers.

Who you are:

  • Able to thrive in ambiguity and make qualitative judgments based on available information.
  • Willing to make and admit mistakes and course-correct accordingly.
  • Have developed practical knowledge of Agile principles and practices. Will bring unique perspectives and skills developed on-the-job while achieving delivery success in your current and prior roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and communicate the product roadmap & vision to the development team, refine product backlog items, and report progress to a wide audience, including product management stakeholders and the development teams.
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, an ability and desire to motivate others without having direct control.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.

Above and beyond:

  • Background in software development for embedded systems, telecom, public safety or similar environments.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification.
