Project Description:

Project is maintenance and development for a bundle of applications. The described Developer is located at the "Banknotes and Payments" Team.

Currency Information System (CIS2):

CIS2 compiles information about banknotes and coin supplies from NCBs and planned Eurosystem NCBs, namely ash related statistical data (e.g. stock and flow data on banknotes and coins, cash infrastructure data and data on banknote recirculation activities). It specifically records recirculation activities of third parties and cash infrastructure to support the availability of banknotes in all countries issuing the Euro.

The application plays an important role in the decision-making process related to cash. It holds source data from NCBs, NHTO entities and ECI banks as well as Mints, Treasuries, commercial banks and other cash handlers (e.g. CITs). The inventory gives aggregates at NCB level (in stock, issued, sorted, transported, destroyed) based on input provided by the NCBs. The CIS2 core system is currently accessible by the ECB and NCBs.

CIS2 supports the following processes:

• monitoring of banknote and coin supplies,

• stock management and (re)distribution of banknote and coin stocks within the Eurosystem,

• definition of future euro banknote production requirements,

• monitoring of operational cash activities of third parties,

• monitoring Member States' compliance with approved coin issuance and with Article 101 and 102 of the Treaty (10% limit).

Summary

• Technical platform: Tomcat application server, Oracle DB

• Shared Services: Business Objects (with BODI), EXDI, IAM

• Developer/Maintenance: NBB

Responsibilities:

'Data modelling, handle reporting (customer is switching to a new reporting tool), supporting migration to Power BI

Mandatory Skills Description:

- Minimum 8+ years of technical lead experience in data engineering, analytics and cloud computing

- Professional working experience in data modelling that is to be consumed by Power BI

- Strong expertise on ETL processes/tools and data warehousing concepts

- Advanced expertise in SQL for querying and manipulating data

- Strong coding skills in Python (must pyspark, desired dbt)

- BigData incl. Cloudera Data Engineering, Apache Spark, Impala

- Cloud platform experience e.g. AWS S3, Glue

- Professional work experience with business intelligence platform administration in Power BI. Advanced expertise in creating interactive reports, dashboards, and visualisations using Power BI.

- Working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals and agile development tools (e.g. Gitlab, CI/CD, JIRA)
