Software Engineer (Kafka SRE) in UNITED KINGDOM

A Tier 1 bank is looking for an experienced SRE (from a strong software engineering background) to join their Data Streaming (Kafka) Platform - this team is pioneering data-driven personalisation services that affect millions of customers on daily basis 🏦

📍Location: almost fully remote

• can be based anywhere in the UK but you will need to visit the office twice a month
• can choose between London, Manchester or Edinburgh office (the latter 2 are preferred)
• of course if you prefer to come to the office more often, no one will stop you

✅ Must have requirements:

• software engineering background - ideally you would have worked as a Back-end or Full-stack developer, before shifting your focus to SRE/Platform Engineering (slight preference for Go, Java or Python, but any language is fine)
• significant exposure to Kafka - the more £ you ask for, the more experience will be expected of you
• strong cloud expertise (AWS preferred)
• SRE experience with K8s, Terraform and observability tools

💰Salary: ideally between £80-85k as a base

• more senior candidates will be considered (up to £110k) but the more £ you ask for, the more experience will be expected of you, particularly with regards to Kafka

Taking into consideration how significant the rest of the package is (details below), the total package on offer is is in the region of £120-160k.
