Responsibilities
- Work with the directors and leads to plan, design, iterate and implement levels including creating level layouts, mission progression & pacing, scripting, enemy encounters and integrating gameplay assets into the level.
- To provide a fun and memorable player experience that is consistent with the Game’s vision.
- Take ownership of level creation process from paper design through various block out phases, scripting, iteration, debugging, optimization and delivery.
- Block out and iterate on levels according to feedback and playtest.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentations for level designs.
- Collaborate closely with QA to identify, address and resolve reported issues.
- Collaborate with art department to ensure that the levels are of high visual quality while maintaining the gameplay intentions.
- Knowledge sharing and mentoring of peers
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Level Design roles
- Released at least 1 AA or AAA console/PC title in a Level design position working for a full cycle from pre-production to closing.
- Good knowledge of level design best practices
- Proficient in Unreal Engine 4 and/or Unreal Engine 5
- Proficient with scripting using UE Blueprints
- Experience in collaborating with other departments/teams
- Experience and resourceful in problem solving
- Ability to build quick prototypes
- Ability to process, understand and implement feedback
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver best quality work on time
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated
- Passionate about playing and making video games
