About the Job:

Tuckamore Technologies is a hardware startup committed to enhancing the safety and efficiency of firefighting operations through innovative heads-up displays. In life-threatening and smoke-filled environments, this technology will help firefighters save lives and protect our communities.


As an embedded systems engineer, you will join a passionate team using the latest in wireless communication and embedded systems to bring solutions to those who need them most. You will be critical in designing, integrating, and testing wireless power and video transmission systems in our heads-up display technology. You will work closely with the team to develop a system that meets stringent safety and reliability standards in the most demanding environments. You will also be able to engage in every aspect of the business and are welcome to contribute wherever possible.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Collaborate with our engineering team to design and prototype a wireless power and video transmission system tailored for integration into firefighting gear.
  • Embedded Systems Integration: Integrate wireless modules into our custom product, focusing on optimizing performance, reducing latency, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • PCB Design: Develop and refine custom printed circuit boards (PCBs) to meet the project’s specific needs, incorporating wireless systems, power management, and video transmission circuits.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing of prototypes, focusing on power efficiency, video quality, and system reliability. Identify and resolve issues to ensure the product meets high standards of safety and functionality.


What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in wireless systems design, embedded prototyping, and PCB design.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, including microcontroller/SBC programming and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience with FPGAs and wireless ICs is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in RF communication principles and protocols, with hands-on experience in wireless power and video transmission systems.
