Lead Full Stack Engineer/CTO

Salary: £90,000

Our client is seeking a hands on CTO to lead their technological vision and strategy, focusing on AI-powered solutions that empower city authorities managing urban transport data and sustainability challenges. With successful pilots in UK cities, they are poised for rapid growth and need a visionary leader to guide their tech initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Development: Lead rapid prototyping and MVP development; hands-on coding and troubleshooting; ensure quality and scalability of AI-driven solutions.
• Technical Leadership: Set tech direction, manage cloud infrastructure, ensure data security and compliance.
• Team Building: Recruit and lead a high-performing engineering team; foster innovation.
• Budget Management: Oversee technology budget, balancing in-house and third-party solutions.
• Collaboration: Align tech efforts with business goals; communicate progress to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• PhD or MSc in Computer Science, AI or other related degrees.
• Proven experience leading tech teams and delivering scalable software in high-growth environments.
• Expertise in front-end (React, GIS) and back-end technologies (Node.js, Flask)
• Experience with AI-driven applications (Python, GPT APIs, LLMs, RAG).
• Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS), databases (PostgreSQL, Redis), and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD), CI/CD, Docker, GitHub.
