As a
Senior Software Engineer (Web) in the ZMS Consumer Experience team, you will develop solutions and create experiences for hundreds of partners and internal users and millions of Zalando customers, including customer-facing advertising formats featured on Zalando home and catalog premises, landing page experiences for brand storytelling, as well as partner-facing content and media management workflows.
You will be working alongside a cross-functional team and collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Full-Stack Engineers, Data and Product Analysts, all collaborating to drive innovation and success.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
- 6+ years of experience in building applications using front-end technologies and tools
- A solid understanding of core web and browser concepts, semantic HTML, and CSS
- Deep understanding of the hard and weird parts of the JavaScript language
- Professional experience with React, Typescript and surrounding ecosystem
- Experienced in building Node.js based backend applications (using Express.js for example)
- Ability to write well designed, tested and documented clean code that interacts with external APIs with good understanding of HTTP, RESTful applications
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational topics, and tailor your message to stakeholders with different seniority levels and backgrounds
- Able to breakdown a large problem into smaller chunks and propose iterative solutions, ensuring delivery of customer value at every stage
- Strive for simplicity and avoiding unnecessary complexity
- Provide mentorship for Junior and Intermediate Engineers to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with backend languages such as Java or Python
- Experience with RDMS, relational data modeling and data persistence techniques, knowledge of SQL
- DevOps best practices, setting up CI/CD pipelines, experience with Docker, Kubernetes, common AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2, ElastiCache)
- Experience with GraphQL
- Good understanding of visual, unit and E2E testing
