About The Opportunity
Join a leading Australian, privately owned EPC Construction Company, recognized for delivering major projects in infrastructure, resources, energy, and renewables. With a strong focus on solar and hydrogen, the company is pioneering innovative projects that are setting new benchmarks across Australia.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will report directly to the COO and lead a team of 6-7 key professionals, including a Construction Manager, Quality Manager, Safety Manager, Senior Quality Manager, Planner, and two Senior Project Engineers.
Your primary responsibility will be managing the full lifecycle of a complex project, such as a Solar PV EPC(M), from financial close through to commissioning, energization, and handover. With full P&L accountability, you’ll ensure successful, timely, and profitable project delivery, aligned with client expectations. Upon successful completion of this project, the role offers a pathway to Operations Manager, where you’ll oversee multiple projects across the East Coast, likely based in Brisbane.
For project delivery, you can choose to operate on a FIFO roster from a major East Coast city or relocate for the duration, benefiting from housing / relocation support. Current projects are located in Albury and Mt Isa, with more in the pipeline.
About You
As a Senior Project Manager, you will bring extensive experience within the construction industry, ideally with a background in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering. Your expertise may span infrastructure, power, energy, or renewables, with prior experience in Solar PV highly valued but not essential.
You may have experience working with Tier 1, 2, or 3 Contractors or large Subcontractors, managing projects valued at $50 million or more. Additionally, experience with large package Contractors in the UK would be advantageous. This role is not suited to those with a mining background.
Key Qualifications Include
- Proven experience in a contracting environment, with a direct employment workforce.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in program management, production, safety, and quality control, delivering through a direct workforce.
- Demonstrated ability to manage full P&L responsibilities.
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a closely related field.
- A solutions-driven leadership style with a proven ability to deliver results under pressure.
