Position Classification: Administrative Officer Level 4 (Recruitment Officer)

Remuneration: $69,840.79 - $71,439.54 per annum + 11.5% super (Admin. Officer Level 4 Year 1 - Year 2)

Location: Awabakal Country – Waratah Campus - This is a site-based position

Hours per week: 38 hours per week

Targeted Position

About The Recruitment Team

The Recruitment Unit at Hunter New England Local Health District operates within a centralised model to support the recruitment of clinical and non-clinical health professionals across a diverse region, covering metropolitan, regional, and rural areas. The team ensures compliance with legislation, Ministry of Health guidelines, and local health district policies.

Hunter New England Health (HNE Health) provides a range of public health services to the Hunter, New England, and Lower Mid North Coast regions. We employ more than 17,000 employees and providing health services to over 900,000 people.

About The Role

We are currently seeking proactive Recruitment Officers to join our dynamic team based at the Waratah campus, Awabakal Country to be part of our amazing recruitment unit, enhancing our diversity and inclusiveness within our team culture.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in our centralised recruitment model, supporting hiring managers in recruiting both clinical and non-clinical health professionals in the recruitment of positions located across many Aboriginal nations in HNE.

Our team collaborates closely with hiring managers to ensure a seamless end-to-end recruitment process. As a Recruitment Officer, your role would see you specialise in onboarding and compliance or talent acquisition.

You will play a key role in our operations, where the responsibilities are divided across key functions.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Building advertising strategies
  • Creating job adverts
  • Managing candidate processes and supporting hiring managers until a recommended candidate is identified.
  • Verifying candidate data and preparing recommendation reports
  • Manage employment checks, compliance, and creating letters of offer
  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure effective recruitment processes
  • Conduct audits, reporting, and other related tasks

An understanding of recruitment and onboarding will be very helpful – but if you’re organised and a fast learner, and have a keen eye with attention to detail being your super strength you’ll fit right in!

About You

You are a savvy, quick thinker who enjoys a fast paced and dynamic environment. No two days will be the same and if multi-tasking is your thing, you’ll be perfect!

  • You’re a great communicator – a people person who can quickly build rapport with others
  • You are dedicated, driven and have high attention to detail
  • You have experience interpreting multiple Awards and Policies to ensure compliance in the recruitment process
  • Your background might be working in recruitment agencies, internal recruitment, in the talent acquisition space, or even in a busy, high level administration role
  • You thrive in a high volume working environment and managing conflicting priorities is your strength!
  • You enjoy learning new things and are open to suggesting new ideas and process improvements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or other related field (marketing, communications, business) and/or experience working in a recruitment related role with a sound knowledge of recruitment methods, talent sourcing strategies and HR transactional processes and/or substantial relevant administrative experience.
  • Experience in the use of e-Recruitment systems (e.g. ROB) and HR Information Systems (e.g. Oracle Stafflink) or similar, or willingness to learn same.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume and demanding environment with proven capacity to manage concurrent activities whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, understand and interpret new information related to industrial employment awards and agreements, policies and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills utilised in developing and maintaining effective client relationships and delivering job outcomes.
  • Evidence as an effective team player in a values based team environment with a capacity to be flexible, motivated and responsive in delivering services to a diverse client base to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of software packages e.g. email, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications.
