About the Company
Our client is a leading financial institution with a strong presence across Europe, focused on delivering innovative digital banking solutions. As they continue to expand their technology capabilities, they are seeking a Technical Software Lead to guide and manage software development projects that are critical to their digital transformation efforts. This hybrid role offers flexibility with 2 remote days per week, while primarily being based in their Berlin office.
Role Overview
As the Technical Software Lead, you will lead a team of engineers in developing and maintaining key software solutions for the bank’s digital platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and innovative financial solutions. Your role will be critical in guiding the technical direction of the team while ensuring the successful execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions tailored to the bank’s digital banking platform.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, project managers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure successful delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and direction, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment are followed.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of software solutions in compliance with banking regulations and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during development and post-deployment, ensuring smooth operation of the software.
• Drive continuous improvement within the engineering team, enhancing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in the financial sector to ensure the team’s solutions remain competitive and forward-thinking.
Requirements
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or technical lead role.
• Proven track record in delivering complex software projects, ideally in a financial services or banking environment.
• Strong technical proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, etc.), with experience in full-stack development.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and the ability to build scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
• Experience in managing teams, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and developing talent.
• Familiarity with the regulatory requirements and security standards in the banking industry is an advantage.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Ability to work on-site at the Berlin office, with flexibility for up to 2 remote days per week.
• Right to work in Germany (relocation assistance available if needed).
