AI/ML/DSP Engineer in AUSTRALIA

Position: AI/ML/DSP Engineer

Location: Fyshwick ACT

Type: Full-time

Salary: $120k + super, negotiable

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimise AI/ML models for detection, classification, and prediction tasks using sensor data.
• Create and execute field activities to capture and curate high-quality training data using our proprietary sensor systems.
• Integrate AI/ML models onto bare metal embedded systems.
• Test and validate the performance of models on real-world data, ensuring reliability and accuracy in various operational scenarios.
• Document designs, processes, and testing procedures to ensure traceability and knowledge sharing. 

Our ideal candidate will have the following traits/skills:

Required:

• Strong grasp of DSP techniques (e.g. FFT, filtering, wavelets) with experience in embedded systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Proven ability to design, build, train, and deploy DSP-focused machine learning models on low-power edge devices.
• Deep understanding of time-series data analysis, particularly seismic or acoustic data.
• Ability to work full-time in the office (permanent remote work is not viable, but ad-hoc remote arrangements can be approved on a case-by-case basis).

Desirable:

• Tertiary qualification in a related field.
• Ability and desire to work in the field to obtain data and test systems.
• Proactive attitude and high level of autonomy.
• Experience with ONNX.
• Be comfortable in a rapid and dynamic environment within a small team.
